Dances of Romania

       

   

Romania is well known for its rapid music and dances with complicated steps and rhythms.

The group has two programs.

1: The latest Program, developed by Josta Krijnen-Veldhuis.
The names of the dances:
Zdroboleanca, Hora de mina, Hora de la Cimpie, Tora, Poloxia din Bechet.
First performance: November 9, 2008.

2. Program, developed by Gerry Penris.
Names of the dances: Hora de la Caval, Geamparave, Joc de Perechi, Trileste, Stigat, Dans cu sucitoare.
In the dance, Stigat, the baking of cookies is rendered. The "dans cu sucitoare" is danced with sticks, though it was originally dances with rolling pins. 

The skirts and aprons for the costumes are original from Romania. The blouses are made and embroidered by the members themselves.
